came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.
The God has
chosen Israel out of all the peoples to
be his people, his treasured possession. So Jews were
Christ’s “own” who did not receive Him 2000 years ago.
Today the unbelievers rejected Jesus
just like 2000 years ago that they kept indulge themselves in sinful
desires.

The Spirit
gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they
are full of the Spirit and life.

when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace

grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and
this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
9 not by works, so that no one can

we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God
prepared in advance for us to do.
