mediator of the new covenant: Jesus because
John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I
am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through me.
1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one
God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ
Jesus,
Hebrews 8:6 But in fact the ministry Jesus has
received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the
new covenant is established on better promises.
Hebrews 12:24 to Jesus the mediator of a
new covenant, and to the
sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
Jesus
gave himself as a ransom for all men (1 Timothy 2:6) through His blood.

27 Then
he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the
covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

People are trying to become right with God through our works. But
we can never change our sinful nature that lead to death.
The desire and ability to
obey God shall be an outgrowth of our faith in Jesus. Because with the blood of
Jesus, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so we may be able
to serve the living God.

Moses brought them to meet
with the God of Israel. They saw God (v10), and ate and drank there (v11).

three symbols of
God’s glory: Up on the
mountain, cloud, and fire.

God is high up.
God is almighty.
Clouds
represent unlimited extent of God.
Fire is hot and gives light represent
God with most high authority.
