Lesson 29, Q3~Q5


SECOND DAY: Read Matthew 28:1-15.
Q3.
a. On what day did Jesus rise from the dead?
Matthew 28:1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week.
Luke 24:1 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning.
John 20:1 Early on the first day of the week.
b. Who went to the tomb first?
The women; 1Mary Magdalene [Mt, Jn, Lk], 2the other Mary [Mt, Lk]=the mother of James, 3Joanna [Lk].
c. What happened before they arrived at the tomb?
There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.
Q4.
a. Why were the women afraid? (See also Mark 16:5-8; Luke 24:4-8.)
Because first had a big earthquake and they saw the guards became like dead men. Then the angel appearances like lightning in a white robe.
b. What did they do when they met Jesus?
They were afraid when they hurried away from the tomb and ran to tell the disciples. Mary was crying.
c. What did Jesus tell them to do?
To tell the disciples to meet Jesus in Galilee.
d. How has Jesus’ presence helped you overcome your fear?
Jesus is the best intercessor for us. Jesus’ presence calms me down, comforts me and provides me the wisdom. He ever lives to make intercession for us.
Hebrews 7:25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
Q5.
a. How did the following groups respond to the Resurrection? (Also see Luke 24:19-27.)
Jesus’ friends- fill with joy.
The guards- terrified.
The Jewish leaders- panic and tried to cover what happened they bribed the soldiers.
The Jewish people- foolish, and slow to believe all the prophets had spoken.
b. Read Mark 16:14; John 20:9. How would you answer someone who says the disciples invented 捏造 the facts of Jesus’ resurrection?
They were not capable of inventing the facts of Jesus’ resurrection because they did not understand from Scripture, and neither had faith to believe what Jesus’ told them.
