Lesson 20, Q4~Q5

Lesson 20
Second day, Read Matthew 19:1-9
Q4. Read Genesis 1:27-28 and 2:23-25. How did Jesus use these passages to explain God’s purpose in marriage for a man and a woman?
By using His own image, God created man and woman. Man must leave his parents and be united with his wife, and the two become one flesh.
Q5. Read Deuteronomy 24:1-4
a. How did God mercifully protect women through the temporary permission to divorce, which He gave to Moses?
Deuteronomy said if a husband divorces his wife he couldn’t marry her again if she remarried to another man even her second husband dies. So the husbands should think it through before they made the decision to cut off the relationship because it’s no returning.
b. According to Jesus, why did the Law of Moses permit men to divorce their wives?
Because their hearts were hard.
c.  How does this same issue underlie the problems you face in your family, friendships or church?
There are many different stories happened in different families. Also there are many diverse thoughts in our friendships or church. Sometime God allows us to do the things because our hearts are hard. Even they were wrong God might allow them because God doesn’t want to forsake us.
