FIFTH DAY: Read Exodus 2:23-25.
Q10.
a. How was God preparing the Israelites for their deliverance from Egypt?
God prepared their hearts by disciplining them through Pharaoh’s hands and waited until they were ready to leave.
b. What did the Israelites do when their condition became unbearable?
They groaned in their slavery and cried out for help from God.
Q11.
a. What four verbs tell us what God did in response to their cry for help?
God heard their groaning and He remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. So God looked on them and was concerned about them.
b. What do these verbs tell you about God’s covenant relationship with His people?
God is faithful to those who have faith on Him that God will deliver them from all their troubles.
c. (Personal) Do you have the assurance of this kind of response from God when you face something that seems unbearable? What do you learn about God and the suffering of His people from these verses?
It becomes a habit of mine now.
